It's Been a long time

Kaeleigh's Volleyball team after their last tournament.
Trick or treat

Wow! I just realized that I haven't written for a month! Things as per usual have been busy. Let's see if I can remember some highlights of the last month.

Volleyball season ended with a bang-Kaeleigh's team didn't do so well at their last tournament. They did get a medal for partcipating though. BUT their team ended the season in first place(well tied with St. Rita's but still 1st place is awesome!) They ended their season with a pizza party and some tears. The girls had played together for 4 years and now it's on to high school. Speaking of tears they've already started to cry when they talk about graduating next spring. Their class went on a special overnight to Covenant Harbor a camp with a ropes course where they worked on team building activities. If they weren't thinking as a team after being together for 9 years they were by the end of the two days.

Then there was Halloween. We always have fun on Halloween. We (Mom, Allie and Abby)started out by having a Halloween party and parade at school . We parade through the whole school with Mrs. Zebrowski(the pumpkin) leading. I've had the same costume for about twenty years and the kids always say to me as we go through the rooms"weren't you that last year?" Anyhow after school we went home to wait for Dave so we could go Trick or treating. We started in our old neighborhood because our old neighbors love to still see the kids dressed up and they always have something special for them. Then we went to Allie's teachers house which is in our old neighborhood too. She laughed as we all piled out of the van(don't you just hate people who do that?). Then it was on to Oma and Opa's neighborhood and the house with the BIG candybars(we have to there every year). Then to our own neighborhood that had extended hours. Kaeleigh and her friends handed out candy for awhile at our house and then Abby and I took over(she got tired of walking). Abby says handing out the candy is almost as fun as getting it!
Can you believe that the first quarter of school is over aleady? The girls got their report cards and Dave went to their conferences the first week of November(I was too busy doing my own to go) .They all did AWESOME!!!!!!! Kaeleigh and Claire made high honor roll for their grades!Ally and Abby are too little for Honor roll at our school but had top grades too:)
Tomorrow starts Cheerleading season and Kae and Claire can't wait. (Kaeleigh is Claires team's coach) I love that they love to do cheerleading but sitting through the boys basketball games kills me because I hate to watch basketball. Oh well!

Grandparents Day

It was Grandparents Day at school today. We started the day with mass(a pretty long one at that). Followed up by a lot of singing by different groups. Allie's class sang Joy to the World (Jeremiah was a bullfrog)and Kaeleigh and Claire are in the childrens choir and they sang a beautiful song called Inscription of Hope(I think) and the ST. Eds Tabernacle Chior (the staff) sang the last song THey'll know we are Christians. THen the grandparents were invited to come down to the classrooms. Oma, Grandma Joy and Papa went around to visit each of the girls and poor Opa sat in the Breezeway(it was too much to get down to the kindergarten room where he usually visits with me). It was a nice morning and even my kindergarteners were angels! My class spent the rest of the morning coming down from their sugar high by having playtime and they watched a movie in the afternoon because they crashed from the mornings sugarfest. So overall it was busy and very nonproductive day but like I said fun was had by all.

I'm feeling old

Today at our teacher's convention in Milwaukee a former student came up to me to tell me that she is now a kindergarten teacher and asked if I could be a mentor for her. How can a former student be old enough to be a teacher!?! I'm not that old am I? It was fun to see her, she was a favorite of mine and I even named Abby after her.

As for Kaeleigh's tournament last week they came in third place after MANY games including two different matches against the other 8th grade team. Good job girls!

Awesome midquarter Grades

If you can believe it we are over halfway through with the 1st quarter of school. Everyone is doing awesome! This is Allie's first time getting "real" grades and she has all A's and B's just like her big sisters. Kaeleigh even has a 98.9 going in Algebra at the high school. WE are very proud of all of our girls.

Kaeleigh's volleyball team has been doing much better too. They have won all of their matches in the last two weeks. Last night they played at 8pm and still managed to win the match. Tomorrow they play the other 8th grade team from St. Eds. It should be interesting! Kae's team was also asked to compete in the Seton tournament . THis tournament is at the end of the season and only the top teams get to compete. Pretty awesome achievement I think. THe girls are not sure if they will actually get to go to this tournament though because when it starts their 8th grade class will be on an overnight fieldtrip to an adventure camp. Wow the life of an eighth grader!

Volleyball Tournament

The results are in and it was not pretty! Kaeleigh's team lost 5 of the 6 games that they played:( Kae did have some pretty good serves though. Thanks to both sets of grandparents, Auntie Louie, and Auntie Carol for coming to support their team. Also thanks to the great aunts for taking the girls to lunch, they had already eaten $10 worth of snacks from Mom in the Concession stand.

Another Busy Week

This was a typical week for the Zebrowski Family. Besides going to school or work everyday we are usually busy doing something each weeknight. Monday Kaeleigh had a Volleyball game. They played against the other 8th grade team and won two out of three games(although her Mom was so busy socializing she thought they lost two). Tuesday is Kaeleigh's Volleyball practice night all the way across town which means Mom doesn't get to come home during practice. I did enjoy an hour reading in Barnes and Noble though. Wednesday was dance night for Allie and Claire and two hours at the dance studio for me(I wish they'd get some new magazines) Thursday Kaeleigh and Abbie had a friend over after school(their friends are sisters) and Kaeleigh and her friend had Piano practice. Tonight Mom gets to work the St. Ed's Volleyball Tournament selling concessions and then again tomorrow for 6 hours.(I need twenty hours of volunteer time at school-like I don't do enough for school) Anyhow hopefully Kaeleigh does well tomorrow . I'll let you know on the next post.

Our First Attempt

Hi everyone! This is our first attempt at creating a blog for the Zebrowski Family. The girls love to read everyone elses and they have been begging me for weeks to make one for us, so here goes...

Our last few weeks have been spent getting back into the routine of going to school.

Kaeleigh is now an eighth grader-can you believe it? She is in her last year at St. Eds but goes to Case High School every morning for Algebra class. She LOVES getting up and leaving extra early(6:15am) so Dave can drop her at a friend's house to catch her ride to high school.

Claire is in sixth grade and has made a new friend who slept over last night. SLeepovers are Claire's life or so she thinks. She is also taking a Poms dance class for the third year.

Allie is in the third grade this year and she absolutely LOVES it. THis is a big step from last year when she hated her teacher and school. Allie is also taking a Poms dance class with one of her friends. It is a small class with only Allie , Abby and one of Allie's friends. Allie isn't too thrilled to have Abby in her class but Abby's class was cancelled.

Abby is in First grade and really likes her teacher this year. She says first grade is WAY better than kindergarten(Thanks a lot Abby). Abby also has a new friend that she talks about constantly and she's already had three playdates with her. I love that they have friends I just wish that most of them didn't live on the other side of town.

As for me, my class is pretty good this year except for all of the tears and the bathroom "ACCIDENTS"(I have already had a boy pee in his pants and poop and puke on the floor of the boys bathroom and two other kids pee in their pants-YIKES) I also have a little girl who has screamed every day,but we are down to crying only for lunch and recess when I am not with her. Our secretary says she would not do my job for all the money in the world! Good thing I love it-well except for the constant crying.

Dave has been busy at both of his jobs. Good thing because we have had quite a few car repairs lately and need a few new windows.
