Grandparents Day

It was Grandparents Day at school today. We started the day with mass(a pretty long one at that). Followed up by a lot of singing by different groups. Allie's class sang Joy to the World (Jeremiah was a bullfrog)and Kaeleigh and Claire are in the childrens choir and they sang a beautiful song called Inscription of Hope(I think) and the ST. Eds Tabernacle Chior (the staff) sang the last song THey'll know we are Christians. THen the grandparents were invited to come down to the classrooms. Oma, Grandma Joy and Papa went around to visit each of the girls and poor Opa sat in the Breezeway(it was too much to get down to the kindergarten room where he usually visits with me). It was a nice morning and even my kindergarteners were angels! My class spent the rest of the morning coming down from their sugar high by having playtime and they watched a movie in the afternoon because they crashed from the mornings sugarfest. So overall it was busy and very nonproductive day but like I said fun was had by all.

I'm feeling old

Today at our teacher's convention in Milwaukee a former student came up to me to tell me that she is now a kindergarten teacher and asked if I could be a mentor for her. How can a former student be old enough to be a teacher!?! I'm not that old am I? It was fun to see her, she was a favorite of mine and I even named Abby after her.

As for Kaeleigh's tournament last week they came in third place after MANY games including two different matches against the other 8th grade team. Good job girls!

Awesome midquarter Grades

If you can believe it we are over halfway through with the 1st quarter of school. Everyone is doing awesome! This is Allie's first time getting "real" grades and she has all A's and B's just like her big sisters. Kaeleigh even has a 98.9 going in Algebra at the high school. WE are very proud of all of our girls.

Kaeleigh's volleyball team has been doing much better too. They have won all of their matches in the last two weeks. Last night they played at 8pm and still managed to win the match. Tomorrow they play the other 8th grade team from St. Eds. It should be interesting! Kae's team was also asked to compete in the Seton tournament . THis tournament is at the end of the season and only the top teams get to compete. Pretty awesome achievement I think. THe girls are not sure if they will actually get to go to this tournament though because when it starts their 8th grade class will be on an overnight fieldtrip to an adventure camp. Wow the life of an eighth grader!
